  3. Step 3

    Download

A Word document (.docx) that opens in Word, Google Docs or WPS.

Tips for PDF to Word

  • Editable text works best for PDFs made on a computer (reports, letters, forms).
  • Scanned PDFs are pictures of paper: their pages come in as pictures.
  • Complex layouts (columns, tables) may need small touch-ups in Word.

Questions

How do I convert a PDF to Word?

Choose your PDF, keep "Editable text" and tap Convert to Word. You get a .docx file that opens in Microsoft Word, Google Docs, WPS or LibreOffice.

What is the difference between Editable text and Exact look?

Editable text rebuilds headings, paragraphs, lists and bold text so you can change them. Exact look puts every page in as a picture — it looks identical to the PDF, but the text can't be edited.

Why did my pages come in as pictures?

Scanned PDFs are photos of paper, so they have no text to take out. Those pages are added as pictures, so nothing is lost.

Will the layout be exactly the same?

Simple documents come out very close. Columns, tables and special fonts may need small touch-ups in Word. Choose Exact look when the appearance matters more than editing.

Is my PDF uploaded?

No. It is converted in your browser and is never uploaded.
